To remind the Branch eaff of the minimum requirement on the number of personnel in the Branch at any time during workicg hours, the D/I policy memorandum, "Security of the Working Area", was circulated to all Branch personnel. This memorxmdim was dated 14 June 1955. b. Branch analysts were consulted on the time-scheduling of their research problems for remaining FY-58, and provided with terms of reference and due dates covering their projects. Branch Industry Orientation and Industry Consultants. Following a recommendation of Deputy Chief, ERA, inquiries were made concerning industry orientation courses which might be available through U. S. industrial facilities. The Chief. Electronics Division, Business and Defense Services Adminis- tration., Department of Commerce, provided the Branch with names of contacts he felt would be able to advise on this type 25X1 A8a of training assistance and who would also be likely to be of assistance in a consultant status. 25X1A8a has been advised or this, and nas been asked to inquire further. 6. Problems The review of U. S. Army Signal Intelligence Agency contributions to the Soviet Bloc BIS Program continues to be a problem. The contributions are not received until the deadline has passed, and they have characteristically required excessive alterations in content. The allowable time for review and correction dons not permit the thorough research and writing which is required to make the improvements satisfactory or sufficient. 7. Recommendations The recommendation that ORR/D/I/Electrical Equipment Brans.h be given the responsibility for preparing these 1IS' is submitted. 8. Other Information a.
