5. Future 1;lans
Within a few weeks tl=a branch will not only have gotten out
turn under the backlog of old projects but also be reasonably up-to-date
in our fiscal 1960 research pro,wfl. I intend to have the branch
devote a short, but concentrated period of time in reviewing 1) e:Fisting
reading and collection requirerients, 2) our own internal branch
1)roceaures 3) our liaison with FDD and other CIA components and 4) the
remainder of our FY 160 prooran and to initiate: planning for FY '61.
The branch has concentrated so :much on specific project deadlines
in recent months that I feel there Is a need to re-emphasize some basic
research and administrative procedures at this tine.
