Machine Building - The revision o this project is nearing completion
and should be completed this month.

Frost will start reviewing the bulk of this report as soon as he
completes the final changes in 30.2043.
34.1930 -- Problems in Soviet Machine Building - Revision
completed, will be resubmitted as soon as retyping is completed.

Production of Capital Equipment - Writing stage cone nues. Initial
sections of the report ready for branch review.

Submitted to division.

Being revised in accordance with division review.

a revised outline that takes into account other branch research recently V00,

2. Status of Support Projects:
30.2232 -- Hungarian NIS - Telecommunication and other army
sections have been received. Work is proceding on the A-General.
3. Changes in Estimates:
None
4. Relationships with other components.
5. Future Plans - During September the branch intends to
investigate several additional priority projects that could be
undertaken on the-machine building industries of the USSR and
recommend one for inclusion into this year's branch research program.
6. Other:
The Chief, I/) has been selected as the ORR ca Idate for
the Agency's slot at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces for
the course beginning in the summer of 1960.
