1. Status of Projects:
30.2043 -- Ca ital Investment in the Producer's ui t
Industry of communist China - Not withstanding a: similar comment last
month, the revised - will be submitted to the Division in April.
The China NIE coordination consumed more of Frost's time than had
been anticipated. He has made substantial progress on the revision.
34.894 -- The Determination of Cost and Price in Soviet
Machine Building - In Division.
32.488 -- Industrial investment Polic in East Germany- ~~ ,?
Last sections promised to me late this week.
34.1930 -- Problems in Soviet Machine Building -
is working hard on improving t s report and putting in a substantial
amount of overtime. His current support work on the new State
Committee on Automation and machine building plus contributions to the
25X1 A9a Soviet NIE on Science and Technology serious cut into his available
research time in March. In addition, asked for a summary
statement on automation. Under the original terms of reference I/M
has no responsibility for a contribution on this subject.
30.1535 -- Investment in Li t Indust in Communist China -

and USSR - This project is coming along on schedule, has
completed the US-USSR comparisons for cotton textiles and wool. This
should prove to be a rather interesting little project.
34.2375 -- Evidence of Soviet Bloc Integration in the
Production of Capital - Witf; the completion of e 25X6A
trade report Mr. Gurski is getting back to full time work on his
project. It is hoped that there will be no further interruptions.
