Commented on OCDM.Draft "US Restrictions on Imports of Aluminum Which Affect - B. Prepared a critique of performance as a translating 25X1A8a organization particularly wi respec to its summary on USSR Materials and Materials Processing Equipment, No. 1, 19 September 1958 C. Prepared an item for the OCI Daily on current output of diamonds in the USSR. D. Submitted a contribution to the NIE on East Germany. E. Commented on Position Paper CFEP 574 which concerned lead and zinc. F. Completed CSM No. 616, Soviet Intrigue in the International Tin Market. A copy of this memorandum was delivered to the State Department for use in advising UK and other members of the International Tin Council of what appears to be a clever and subtle Soviet scheme. G. Prepared specific requirements for St/I/R on the following: 1. Gaps in Information Statement on Nonferrous Metals and Minerals in Poland. 2. IPC Requirements for nonferrous metals and minerals in each of the European Satellites. 3. Requirements to be answered from a trip from Moscow via Leningrad to Murmansk. 4. M/NF requirements for biographic data. 5. Requirements for use in interrogating Greek repatriates. 6. Requirements on the aluminum industry of the USSR for use in briefing an exchange delegation of engineering educators that may have occasion to visit the Siberian Metallurgical Institute at Stalinsk. II. Program -- The research program of the branch has been reviewed as a result of the D/M critique of our contribution to ORR Project 20.1776. Another contribution to this project is being prepared and should be ready for submittal on or about 24 November 1958. 25X1A9a III, lectured on the production of economic intelligence in 0 to an IOC class.25X1A9a IV.
