struction Program of the 6th FYP in support of 10.1763
Economic Development of the Eastern Areas of the USSR.
Supported S/CST on electric power.
C. OSI-SID-58-1, Prepared comments on "Soviets Working on
Wireless Power Transmission" and "Soviets Development
of Electric Power Directly by Thermo Methods".
Support DD/P on "Fuels and Power Industries in Poland",
to be used for formal briefing.
Support IAC Standing Committee on Delegations with
itineraries for proposed electric power exchange of
delegations.
II. Program
A. Project 25.1577 addendum. Intra-Bloc Trade in Petroleum.
Additional data being prepared for incorporation in
final published report to reflect new trade statistics
obtained from Czechoslovakia and Bulgarian handbooks.
Project 28.2062 - Military Consumption of Petroleum Products,
Sino-Soviet Bloc, 1956 and 1957. This is an EIC Petroleum
Subcommittee report which requires review and consolidation
of data submitted to the subcommittee by the Armed Services,
and preparation of the finished report.
Project 25.1996 Petroleum Resources in Northwest China.
Request was made to postpone completion date from
18 April 1958 to 6 June 1958?

D. (1) attended the 12th. Annual Conference on
Middle Eastern Affairs of the Middle East Institute
on 31 January 1958 in Washington, D. C.
(2) The Nuclear Energy Section met with members of the
Production Division, AEC on 10 and 21 January 1958 to
discuss costing on certain phases of the Soviet nuclear
energy program.
(1) Vacant slot for analyst in the Nuclear Energy Section
should be filled in order to accelerate research in
that section.
(2) Consideration of research program for FY 1959 has been
initiated.
