Foil 'Hill in Hungary
An aluminium foil rolling mill now being fitted out in Kobanya,
Budapest, Hungary, will eventually cover all domestic require-
ments for the food and chemical industries and do away with the
need for imports, the newspaper Szabad hep reports,
The plant (supplied by ktobertsons, of Bedford, England) includes
two-high aluminium rolling mills with rolls 330 by 900 mm., suitable
for rolling foil up to about 650 mm, wide-there being one roughing
mill designed for a rolling speed of 50/150 m./mina, driven by a
variable-speed motor developing 50/150 hap, at 350/1,050 ropomo, and
a finishing mill with the same rolling speed range, but the motor
power for this mill is 35/105 h,p, at 350/1,050 r,p,m, There is also
one washing mill for a final pass on the finished foil, and to remove
the lubricating oil which is applied to the rolls of the roughing
and finishing.
It is designed for a rolling speed of 90 mo/mine, and is
driven by a 25 hap, motor at 960 r.p,m,

Czechoslovak Skoda works,
The plant is highly mechanized, only 20-22 men being required
per shift, 'Pest rolling is due to begin on August 20, knother
foil rolling mill was opened at the i?,atyas Hakosi works in Budapest
early this year.
