Briefings on CIA at military schools and to various other military groups are fairly extensive, quite apart from substantive intelligence briefings and lectures on communism. Approved For Rase 2002/06/10 : CIA-RDP63-0030904000200010031-0 SUBJECT: CIA Briefings for Military Personnel Six times a year a "Departmental Briefing" is put on for members of the intelligence community. Military officers up to colonel and civilians up to GS-17 attend. Participating organizations include ACSI; Office of the Chief, Special Warfare, US Army; Operations Research Office, US Army; Army Map Service; ONI; AFCIN; OSO/DOD. e. Military reservists: an average of 6 times a year f. At the request of CLA/OPAIPD, periodic briefings on CIA to senior military personnel officers of the Armed Forces are given. These are the personnel officers who assign military personnel to CIA. g. In addition, lectures on CIA have been given (though not on a recurring basis) at the following places: (1) Air Command and Staff School, Maxwell Field, Alabama (2) Marine Air Reserve Training Command, Cherry Point, North Carolina (3) US Army Armor School, Fort Knox, Kentucky (4) Bolling Air Force Base 5. The Agency provides up to 20 speakers for a single SIS course (there are five courses a year). Some of the speakers 2 5X1A cover specific CIA functions: on facilities of the Office of Central Reference, on the National 25X1 A intelligence Surveys, and Mr. Kent on National Intelligence Estimates. Others give substantive intelligence briefings. Agency speakers are also sent to Fort Holabird and to the Naval Intelligence School. 6. Outgoing military attach4s are briefed by PPC and the operating divisions of the DDP. 7. Newly designated military commanders are briefed by PPC and occasionally the 0&B Officer. 8.
