Task Force Training Plans Committee
1. Since the initial and only meeting if this Committee the
following developments of general. intere t have occurred:
e. The support components have c.mpleted their drafting of
respective, tentative, doctrinal concepts for supporting a contingency
tasl;: force operation;
b. The operational concept and course content for the next
exercise were drafted end submitted for approval in principle. Phtil
receipt of reply further substantive planning will be held in abeyance;
e. Replies; from the science consultant proposal were ,sharply
divided. While it wao a3cumesl that scientific inowledge available within
the Agency would be applied to the preparation and conduct of the exercise.,
this easumption war- not made by :some members and others objected to
bringing in outride consultants. This subject will be deferred for the
present.
d. The rD/S and )/P both felt that the May 1961 date was i
too early considering current commitments and preferred waiting until
the Fall, 1961. The training plan, however, should be developed and in
readiness for a suitable date.
2. It would be appreciated if Committee Members would inform all
concerned of the above postponement of this next task force training
exercise. Planning,, however, will resume upon receipt of guidance from
within the DD .
