In accordance with the information made available in the zoom climb tests submitted to the Director on 29 December, the results of these tests were presented to selected personnel at ATIC for evaluation. On 14 January 1959 in the briefing to the individual specialists, the aircraft was referred to as a weather reconnaissance aircraft and that the hops were flown out of Laughlin ARE, Texas, to the Eglin field operating area. Although the aircraft altitude was by necessity identi- fied as a high flyer, no information was passed on that this selected aircraft was used for an overfliht program. However, in that all the individuals at the conference are SI, Sensint and Talent cleared, it was felt that this information could be used to correlate that the T;-2 was being used in an overflt ht program. Upon return, security was handed a copy of the paper and requested to determine whether the people who had received the basic paper would require a CHALICE clearance. It was decided that it was not required, and the matter rested as is. 25X1A 25X1A Approved For Release 2003/12/10: CIA-RDr63-00313A000600020083-3
