8o GUSTO STATUS. Mr, Kiefer reported that Convair is continuing
with its design study of a small Super-Hustler, The plant is also studying
what can be done with an unstaged vehicle, using J-58 engines and unassisted
take-off. Reduced radar return is part of the design, LAC has also indi-
cated a willingness to do a study on the use of radar reflectivity in its
.vehicle. No definite date has been set for either proposal but action prior
to July 15 is needed, due to the fact that certain standby equipment con-
trolled by Materiel Branch has been tagged with a July 15 hold deadline.

9. CORONA SHOTS. The fifth launch (Mission 9001) will take place
this week. At the time of the staff meeting. weather in the target area
as well as at Vandenberg was good. This is the first shot to use a camera.
The sixth shot (Mission 9002) will be 30 June and the seventh (Mission 9003)
on 16 July. Both will be camera shots
10. OTHER ITEMS:
a. Mr. Bissell is scheduled to brief State Department this
week on future CHALICE. mission proposals.
b. Mr. Bissell has requested that during absences from their
offices each section chief and deputy will notify his secretary where
he has gone and at what number he may be reached. This is normal
practice but sections have been failing to comply recently.
c. Mr. Cunningham stated that the addition of LO trailers at
Detachment B has been approved by the DD/P and DD/S,y 25X1
