Mr, Kiefer reported that Convair is continuing with its design study of a small Super-Hustler, The plant is also studying what can be done with an unstaged vehicle, using J-58 engines and unassisted take-off. Reduced radar return is part of the design, LAC has also indi- cated a willingness to do a study on the use of radar reflectivity in its .vehicle. No definite date has been set for either proposal but action prior to July 15 is needed, due to the fact that certain standby equipment con- trolled by Materiel Branch has been tagged with a July 15 hold deadline.
