h. At the reaueet of Pratt and Whitney, arrangements were made with the
25X1 Nevi, to extend the Navy facilities contract with
Pratt and Whitney pertaining to the J-58 engine scheduled to end 30 June
1960. An extension is required to permit Pratt and Whitney to order and
install long lead time facilities requirements scheduled for delivery
eight to ten months hence. The Navy facilities contract requires that
facilities requirements be instialwi prior to the end of the expiration
date of the contract. Pratt and Whitney advisedtbat this situation arose
as an aftermath of a zuzratoritan pLacei on the faeilities contract for
several months in the fall of 1959 during which time P &Wyss unable to
place orders for facilities requirements.
