Two meetings were held with DD/S and Army personnel to discuss
the Army proposal that the Agency act as an agent for the Army in a
special contract wAh a commercial mapping firm?
The 1959 Annual Report of Inter-Agency Map Procurement has
been distributed,
B, Planning and Development
planned itinerary is being reviewed in the
light of the postponement of the PAIGH meeting in Lima, A 5-month
procurement mission to Greece has been planned for IMMEME1925X1A9a
beginning about the first of March, Dr. Lauri Niemela will arrive in
the Map Library the first part of February for approximately two months
of irtensive briefing before undertaking his Geographic Attach i duties
in Northern Europe?
C, Significant Outside Contacts and Activities
In connection with a Domestic Procurement Section project,
attended a meeting of the Executive Board of the American Congress on
Surveying ard Napping 2 at which a proposed exchanke of cartographern
between the USSR and the United States was discussed?
