At that meeting, it is requested that members be prepared to express their views on the following draft proposal and, if desired, to offer substitute proposals at that time. The Chair suggests the following assignmentes 1. That Working Group I prepare by 20 August an agreed concise ;4ummary report of current world developments in the field of trade controls embracing the period July 1955 throe .August 1, 1956. 2. That Working Group.t'?prepare by 20 August an agreed concise summary report of current world developments in the field of application and enforcement embracing the period July 1955 through August 1, 1956. 3. The Working Group is instructed to use the draft or final interagency report being prepared for the CFEP as its sole reference. 4. That the Executive Committee simultaneously review current policy documents and draft an appropriate recommendation for a.new,polcy? statement and submit it for EDAC review as soon as practicable. It shall be understood that the Executive Committee will be required to include the separate views of each of the regular Executive Committee members wherever agreement is not reached, with the understanding that agency positions will be taken subse- quently at the EDAC level. When the Executive Committee has completed the assignment set forth in 1t above, it shall determine whether or not a separate,study is necessary to meet the requirements of paragraph(Li)of the CFEP minutes (policy changes necessary provided CFEP should later determine the circumstances which require further relaxation). 6. After drafting a new policy statement, the Executive Committee will proceed to draft a transmittal memorandum, to the CPEP summarizing the conclusions drawn from the working group summaries of current developments, which are reflected as changes in the new draft policy statement. 7. The Executive Committee is requested to draft a biweekly progress report for transmission by the Chairman to the CFEP on all of the matters, set forth-above.
