intelligence Effort
1. Since December 1945 infer, discussions have been proceeding
between repxesentative of the War and Navy Departments with the view
to obtaining more aecononi?cal and efficient intelligence, Approximately
month after initiation of these discussions the National Intelli-
ge Authority was established, it is noted that the Presidential
Directive of 22 January 1946 and the IA Directive No, 2 (tentative)
