SUBJ.ECfir N.I.A. Views on Proposed Executive Order "Directing
the Cooperation of Goverment Agencies in the
Coordination of Foreign Intelligence Activities
of the United States
1. By letter of 27 February, the Bureau of the Budget requests
the views of the National Intelligence Authority on the enclosed
proposed Executive Order 'Directing the Cooperation of Goverment
Agencies in the Coordination of Foreign Intelligence Activities of
the United States".
2. The C.I.G. should handle this matter expeditiously and a
the sane time observe the proper relationships with the Advisory
Board and the N.I.A. Therefore, the Planning Staff has prepared the
enclosed draft of a proposed memorandum from the Director of Central
Intelligence to the members of the Intelligence Advisory Board. The
draft includes a proposed'reply to the Bureau of the Budget, and
Its each member of the Intelligence Advisory Board to present the
matter to his department head for approval.
That the enclosed memorandum be prepared for your signature
substantially as drafted, and be signed and dispatched.
