ACTIVITY RELATED TO CUSTOMER A. 1 . Sustaining. Engineering a. Engineering Change Proposal 9A.C Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 9A.C, a result of the Information Recorder Reliability Program, was submitted during June. This proposal recommends that the oilite bearings in the Capstan Drive Assembly (MP 10050) and the Jam Roller Assembly (MP 10065) be replaced with ball bearings. b. System-3 Local Oscillator Crystal Specifications During June the Contractor initiated a program to 25X1D establish more stringent specifications for the local oscillator crystals used in System 3 Although the present crystals satisfy Mil. Spec C-3098-B, some have spurious responses which cause false "lock?ons" in the system. The routine support work load has decreased, allowing $7,000 of the Sustaining Engineering funds to be transferred to the Repair and Retrofit portion of the contract. Field Service and Support has assumed responsibility for liaison between the Contractor and the Customer-A Security Office. 25X1A 25X1A Another meeting was held between the Contractor and from Customer-A. Headquarters to discuss logistic requirements for the next fiscal year. Meetings were also held during June with Customer A. and Customer B to discuss the details of transferring Contractor Representative from Customer A to Customer B. 2. Repair and Retrofit a. Inventory The Repair and Retrofit Inventory for June is listed in Table 1 . All fiscal 1959 Work Orders submitted by Customer A were completed by 30 June 1960. B. ACTIVITY RELATED TO CUSTOMER C 1. Sustaining Engineering a. Engineering Change Proposal 9A.C With verbal authorization from Customer C, ECP-9AC (see section A., paragraph 1a) was incor- porated in ten (10) Capstan Drive Assemblies (MP 10050) ordered on Production List 60-39. There are, however, a number of field problems awaiting engineering evaluation and correction. Ter, such projects are held in suspense, and the priority of each problem is examined weekly. Only those projects under active investigation are discussed in this report. III. CONTRACT HF-CT-699 The Call Contract Inventory for June is listed in Table 2.
