1. (I - JSW) Dr. Scoville, accompanied
by I I and John S. Warner, appeared before the staff
of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy to bring them up to date
on current developments in the atomic energy field. See
Memorandum for the Record.
2. - JGO) Advised by I CDC,
that State Department has received a request from the Senate Judiciary
Committee for comments on S. 3043, a bill to amend the Immigration
and Nationality Act. The State Department position will be concurrence
provided the quota allocation is reduced from 30, 000 to 5, 000.

"Chinese Policy Background of the Campaign against Yugoslavia" which
had been requested by Ben Mandel, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee
staff, was not yet available, but we will be notified if a copy is procured.
Mandel is being advised of this.
