JSW) Made arrangements with Senator Jack Miller (R., Iowa) to see him tomorrow in connection with his letter to Mr. McCone dated today (11 January 1962) on the Christian Century article of November 15, 1961 concerning General Heusinger. 4. ( - GLC) George Murphy, Joint Committee on Atomic Energy staff, called and said the Committee had scheduled its hearings on nuclear testing for the 18th and 19th and would like to have the Agency appear at 2:00 P.M. on the 18th. I reminded Murphy that I had informed the staff that Mr. McCone was unavailable on the 18th and 19th since his confirmation hearings had been set on the 19th. Murphy said he understood this and that Chairman Holifield was informed of this but they hoped that since the confirmation hearings were scheduled for the morning Mr. McCone might still be available in the afternoon. I told Murphy I would pass this information on and be in touch with him. 5. - GLC) Gwenn Lewis, House Committee on Un-American Activities staff, called and said she understood that we had drawn a diagrammatic chart of the Soviet Communist Party organization. She said such a chart would be helpful to them in connection with hearings which the Committee has conducted and she requested a copy. I told her I would look into this and be in touch with her. Res. 38, 79th Congress, before the Committee which were held on 23, 24, 25 and 26 September 1946 (79th Congress) concerning investigation of shipyard profits. Mr. Bernard J. Zincke, Counsel to the Committee, stated that they had but a couple of copies of the hearings left and desired that this copy be returned. (0 - JGO) Mr. darner was briefed by 25X1 8 .
