It was agreed that this office would take no action since there was no indication as to which members of congress might be involved. 2.1 I Mr. Buarque, in the office of Representative Thomas F. Johnson, called again in connection with the case of He indicated the representative is most upset that this individual was not employed by the Agency again stating that is able to use his vision in precise and sometimes dangerous work. I told Mr. Buarque that while this might be true, we admittedly had rather strict medical requirements and our Medical office could not approve him for overseas duty. I remined him again that we had attempted to find a position for him which would not involve overseas. assignment, but had been unsuccessful in this. He asked if we would take another look at the case because the representative is sufficiently interested that he may register a complaint at a high level. He made a point of the fact that had been in process, for some time and apparently was about set to receive an appointment to a position when this "medical defect" was detected. He could not under- stand why it would take so long to make the determination that he was not fit for overseas duty. I told Buarque I would discuss the case again with our Personnel people.
