Approvedr Release 2004/0,1.5 RDP64B(>"46R000200220118-0 JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Thursday - 5 July 1962 2. Jay Sourwir , Senate Internal Security Subcommittee staff, called and said that on a previous occasion he had asked us to check for information on and we had replied we had no information that could be located on this individual. Sourwine said he has reason to believe that our Middle East Desk would have information on this individual. I athe r ed from Sourwine' s comments that this may not b e hi s true name. It appears that he has advised the Senate Internal Security Subcommittee staff that at one time he worked for a foreign intelligence service. Sourwine suspects that he is a "phoney" and would like us to check again for any information on him. This item is being referred to NE Division for any assistance they may be in a position to give. 3. I I Advised by Mrs. Miller, Personal Secretary to Senator Homer Gape art, that the Senator is in Indiana until the first of the week. She requested that any papers I might have for the Senator be held until we might meet with the Senator upon his return.
