STAT 1? Following Carl Marcy's call to Mr.
Helms and subsequent discussion with the DCI, advised Marcy that
any information an this subject would have to come from the
Department of State. He indicated he was planning to call Secretary
Rusk since he had been bounced by Assistant Secretary Martin to us
and we were bouncing it back. Per ICI instruction, the substance
of the above was made available to Senator Russell with no reaction.
2. The Director, accompanied by
John S. Warner, met with the CIA Subcommittee of House Appropriations.
