Approved For Release 1999/0 25X1A9a 5-000QPR000100110002-0 7 January 1963 1. During the quickie inspection of WH Division a little over 25X1A6a a year ago I found that the Office of Communications had sent to , a GS-7 communicator with a total of eight epen ents, including a wife, six children and a 15 year old sister- 25X1A6a in-law. In my report I commented that it was foolish for the Agency to send so big a family to as primitive a place as - not only because of transportation costs but also because there was too much danger of further expenses if something happened to any member of the family. 25X1A6a 25X1A9a 2. Shortly after the report was issued personally checked and informed me that the communicator an ependents were getting along just fine and he saw no need to do anything. This afternoon telephoned again to say that I had been 25X1A9a right in the first place. The communicator's youngest child, as infant, has developed heart trouble which required evacuation of the child and mother, first to Panama and finally to Washington. 25X1A6a Meanwhile, a second sister-in-law has shown up in-alst 25X1A6a as a dependent. The communicator had been scheduled for a second 25X1A9a tour bu now must bring the ily back to United States, and will probably send them t here the communicator may get some rental allowance. 1A9a 25X1A9a Approved For Release 1999/09/16 : CIA-RDP65-00005R000100110002-0
