(settlement Cher tora Pad) ? - HISTORY Near Vladivostok In 1929 in a rJ guerilla raid into the Soviet Union led by Cols MARTINOV new and MOKHOV, the existence of RIS agent training schools at Khabarovsk,Vladivostok., Voroshilov, and Komsomolsk was first established and courses and details regarding them. During the raid much documentary material and a number of prisoners were taken including the brother of the famous Far Eastern gaeilla leader,BOIKO.As late as 1945 further evidence was obt fined that these schools and courses contd #o exist and that they were eveh considerably larger. STUDENT. BODY AND LENGf OF COURSE Students appointed to the RIS agent schools at the above mentioned towns were of Russian, Chinese,Mongolian and Korean nationalities. Students from Chinas Korea and Mongolia wererec- ozmnended and vouched for t their national communist parties. In peacetime the training period at these schools was 18 months.During IM II the training was shortened to eight months.About 30-40 students graduated from each course. About 50% were appointed for Frontier Zone work, 25% for activities in the Interior, and 25% for activities abroad.
