General Carroll called Mr. Kirkpatrick at 6:00 p. m. , last
night in regard to the review of the Stennis Committee report and
recommended that the Agency and DIA coordinate their reviews so
that they are requesting the deletion of the same material. General
Carroll noted that there would probably be a lot of pressure to get
the response back immediately and suggested that our representatives
consult the first thing in the morning. Mr. Kirkpatrick told General
Carroll that you would be the man representing the Agency.
Mr. Kirkpatrick passed all of the above in a memo to General
Carter which we received this morning. Mr. Kirkpatrick ended his
memo by saying that if you would call General Carroll's office today to
get it coordinated, he (Mr. Kirkpatrick) thought it would be in the best
interests of the Agency and DIA.
General Carter will be late in arriving at the office today, but
I passed the above to him on the telephone at 9:00 and he asked that you
get in touch with General Carroll's office as suggested by Mr. Kirkpatrick.
