Called on German Ambassador this morning to coordinate approaches to RGUB and inform him of US position on recognition East Germany per reference circular telegrams. Agreed he should be first to approach Foreign office and that US would communicate.. with Burmese Monday or Tuesday as soon as :we. received:i-:S'ecre.tar.ytestimony before Senate Foreign Relations Committee. expressed appreciation of Federal Republic for Burmese.action in past in. refusing to recognize authorities in Soviet occupied zone of Germany. Paragraph 4-4,-Federal Republic trusts that in event authorities in Eastern Germany endeavor be facilitated if the Burmese Government refrained from any action. which would jeopardize previous positions taken wit .respect to non-recognition of the authorities in the zone of Germany occupied by the Soviet Union.
