Approved For Release 2005/03/15 T:ClA-R{DP6'6B0Oo03R00t0200220014-9 12 Calls 10 Correspondence In 2 Correspondence Out 2 JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Tuesday - 16 June 1964 1. Advised by Mr. Samuel Archibald, Staff Director, House Foreign Operations and Government Information Subcommittee, that no hearings are to be scheduled during this week. Conferred with Mr. Archibald concerning the questionnaire sent to several government departments and agencies which in part requested information concerning polygraph testing accomplished by use of other than their own personnel, and equipment. Mr. Archibald agreed that he could foresee no difficulty in those instances where we had provided assistance to other departments if those departments in answering the questionnaire set forth merely that they had been assisted by or borrowed the services of a polygraph operator and equipment without designating the agency which had provided the assistance. 2. I Ben Mandel, Senate Internal Security Subcommittee staff, loaned us a letter which he has received from the International Committee for Information and Social Activity concerning the Soviet economy paper and a suggestion that something similar be done on the subject of the development of Soviet space capabilities. I 3. Checked with the office of Representative Abner W. Sibal regarding the possibility of his visiting the Agency. Sibal's office said his schedule was extremely tight but they would discuss the matter with him to see if a suitable time could be arranged. 4. On the basis of a call from OSI, I contacted the office of Representative Joseph Karth indicating that I was following up on the Congressman's request to NASA officials for a briefing on Soviet unmanned space vehicles. On the basis of advice, I indicated that if the Congressman wished a briefing on this that we could arrange something at his convenience. Karth's office is to advise us of his desires on this. 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release 2005/b 31~' ?
