PAY RETROACTIVITY
The House is expected to agree
to and send to the White House
this week the Senate-approved'
amendment that would make
the recent Government pay
raise apply retroactive to about.
50,000 non-classified white collar
employes who were the victims
of a legislative oversight in the
original measure. All other
Federal classified and postal
workers received retroactive
pay raises to the first pay pe-
riod after July 1.
The ? Senate-adopted amend-
ment, added to the Mouse bill
providing group health and life
'insurance for, District tempora-
ry teachers, also would give
;these 50,000 non-classified em-
ployes the July retroactive pay
d a t e. House Jeaders have
agreed to accept the amend-
mont.
Employes . involved include
t h o s e in National Security
'A g e n c y, Central Inelligence
Agency, Atomic Energy Com-
mission, Tennessee Valley Au-
,thority and Government Print-
ing Office, plus a big group of
top engineers and scientists who
are paid at agency-set rates.
