Actions to Ensure Success of Satellite Launchings
1. It is imperative that every possible step be taken to ensure
maximum success of all reconnaissance satellite launchings. Accord-
ingly, it is requested that all existing procedures be examined on a
continuing basis and that all necessary steps be taken to improve reli-
ability. A special systems check will be run on each launching through-
out the summer and a post-mortem report made following each
launching, including successful ones, to insure the constant refinement
and improvement of these operations.
2. It is further requested that the DCI be furnished a report,
after each launching, on the actions taken to implement this program.
