1. At the same time I received the referenced memorandum
inquiring; about the need for CIA joining the ~ s rstern we were
conducting an internal survey, at request,
of all secure telephone requirements.
2. This survey disclosed that certain activities of LPL, will
require that DPD tie into the _ network described in the
attachment to your memorandum. Thus, there will be access
within the DPI) area to a station on the ~ net. For this reason,
I would conclude that it is not necessary, for our purposes, to
recommend that an additional -station be installed in the
vicinity of the NCI's office.
