The following is a list of the more important actions taken by the Interdepartmental Coordinating and Planning Staff since its inception: 5 August - Office of Research and Evaluation was requested to make a special study on a continuing basis of the scope and value of the information flow from the China area, submitting to ICAPS any suggestions for improvement. 5 August - Office of Dissemination was requested to make a general objective study of the periodic and special intelligence reports prepared and circulated by the intelligence agencies of this Governments with recommendations for integration and elimination of overlaps. 5 August - Office of Collection was requested to make a study of the basic instructions issued by the several intelligence agencies to their agents and representatives abroad fcr the collection of intelli- gence informations with a recommendation for such redrafting as might appear advisable to ensure complete coordination in the preparation of field reports. 7 August - Memorandum to the Executive Director recommending a plan for the coordination of the work of the Office of Special Operations with the collection activities of the other agenoies,providing maximum security to Special Operations. 7 August - Memorandum to the Executive Director urging the prompt recruitment of personnel to permit the creation in CIG of a Central Register of Intelligence Information. August - Memorandum to the Executive Director requesting that the Office of Research and Evaluation be directed to assume the responsibility fcr the evaluation of SSU repcr tss thus relieving G-2. 8 August - Memorandum designating as CIG representative on the SWNCC ad hoc Committee on Psychological Warfare. , 9 August - Letter to the Board of Geographical Namess Department of the Interiors requesting the designation of an eipert to consult ? with ICAPS on the standardization of all transliteration and transposition systems now in effect in the intelligence agencies.. 9 August - Office of Collection was requested to study the completeness cf the collection coverage in China.
