Subject: Weekly Report - Week ending February 14, 1947.
I. Projects carried over from previous week:
1. Liaison with Government Agencies other than those represent-
ed on the IAB:
a. Seventeen (17) of the 19 letters dispatched by the Di-
rector to heads of government agencies have been answered. Two
of these require further internal action.
b. A letter similar to those above has been submitted for
dispatch to the Department of Justice after informal clearance
with FBI.
c. Contact Branch has been placed in liaison with FCC and
RFC,
d. Operations Memorandum No. 4, establishing internal CIG
policy awaits concurrence of OR.
2. Office of Technical Services, Department of Commerce:
a. Have been requested by McDaniel of the Under Secre-
taryTs Office to disregard the letter of January 20, 1947 from
25X1A offering the services of OTC to CIG.
3. Psychological Warfare:
a. SVNCC at its 52nd meeting referred SWNCC 304/1 back to
the ad hoc committee for reconsideration "in the light of in-
structions to be received from the Department". The Navy mem-
ber of the ad hoc committee is attempting to place the paper
on the SWNCC agenda again for more specific instructions. CIG
comments on SWNCC 304/1 (NIA 7) have been formulated and are
being held.
