1. Establishment of Channel between JCS and CIG. Copy of GIG
proposal submitted to who stated he thought it a work-
able plan. I should obtain r , fl?+1nn ircti,..
Liaison with ONI.+ Dispatched letter to ONI stating Captain
would be princip liaison officer with ONI, and that general
plan for liaison would be submitte& at later date.
3. Washington Document Center. Recommendation made to Execu-
tive Director that Center be taken over by CIG about 1 December 19146
and funds be made available to provide for civilian employees to be
discharged by 9 October. Captain Murphy, ONI? assured me that let-
ter formally asking GIG to tale over was under preparation last Fri-
day.: tall d to Colonel Edwards and me to obtain all pos-
sible information and we expect to get the officer-in-charge to cons
over for further details soon.
4. USSBS files. meeting arranged for 25 September to make de-
tailed arrangements which these files under CIG responsibility are
to be placed in National Archives.
5. Statistical Coordination. Sent letter reply to Bureau of
Budget stating we expect to further discuss statistical intelligence
coordination later after coordination in broader fields have been de-
termined.
6. ONI's proposal for discussion in IAB possibilit of central-
izing static intelligence in CIG. Drafted memo to sxecut ve Director
concurring in ONI's propos but suggesting this matter be taken up
after discussion of JCS-CIG relationship proposal.
7. Wright Field Unit discussion. Attendance only in explana-
tion of Co ones. McCoy.
8. Agenda for Dissemination meeting* Prepared rough draft of
agenda which is now being considered b other ICAPS members.
