SUBJECT Union of the Free Press in Germany and the
International Federation of Free Journalists
of Central and Eastern Europe and Baltic and
Balkan countries
REFERETCE . Case K-3898
1. Reference is made to a recent item on the Union of
the Free Press in Germany in a Polish-American newspaper,
Zwiazek Wolnej Prasy Whiemczech. The article stated that
there are nineteen DP newspapers in Germany which are
partially subsidized by the IRO whose headquarters are in
Bad Kissinjen. The Union, whose headquarters is in Augsburg,
was formed by the editors and publishers of the nineteen
newspapers. On 3 September 1950 the following persons were
elected to the presidium of the Union:
a. Stanislaw Moscinski, Polish - President
b. Dr. Makre, Hungarian - Secretary
c. Editor Pedak, Estonian - Treasurer
2. This office would like to be supplied the following
information on member newspapers of subject organization:
a. Names of papers
b. Editors and publishers
c. Location
d. Circulation
e. Political line
f. Source of support
Sources of information
3. This office would also like to know the connection
between the Union of the Free Press in Germany and the
International Federation of Free Journalists of Central and
Eastern Europe and Baltic and Balkan countries.
