for discusseion with you o?ur pis for determining acceptable correspondence betweVn
Air Force and CIA coding of Air Information Reports. The following will be
considered for comparison:
a bect code Our primary interest is the selection of proper and
sufficient subject codes to adequately index the significant intelligence
inf(rmatjo4 reyor tes3 in the document. Undarcodi ng or abbreviated coding
in Lecordace with our criteria, will not be acceptable; overcoding; if
correct, will be acce=pted r to will take into considnrution y . our
application of codes for automatic dissemination.
b)m Subject rs .fiere: These modifiers will be considered as part of the
above subject codes. The application of these modifiers will be based on
the rules developed jointly by APCCIti and CIA (See memo dated 1 October 1957).
