Gerardt on the Committee's recent request to us for assistance in preparing a staff study on foreign space efforts. 2. As you are aware, our policy in dealing with committees of is that we are prepared to offer whatever assistance we can Technically. the Science and Astronautics Committee has general juris- diction to investigate the area proposed in the staff study. However, it subcommittees which deal continually and directly with CIA matters. subject, of course, to security considerations and the primacy of the four d Services Committee obtains.
