1. (Internal Use Only JGO) I handcarried the Legislative Counsel
response to Senator Olin D. Johnston D. S. C.) concerning the status of
the employment application of and will discuss the item
with Mr. William Gulledge on his return to the office on Friday.
2. (Internal Use Only - JGO) I advised Mr. Russell Blandford,
Counsel, House Armed Services Committee, that we anticipated a statement
by the President during the day with regard to the signing of the Agency
Retirement Act.
3. (Internal Use Only - JGO) In the absence of the professional
staff members of the Senate Armed Services Committee from their offices,
I left a message for Mr. T. Edward Braswell with his secretary that we
anticipated a statement by the President during the day with regard to the
signing of the Retirement Bill.
