2. I Advised by Judith Harrison, Personal
Secretary to Representative Hastings Keith (R. Mass.), that Represent-
ative Keith will be in the city at some time during the afternoon on Friday,
but it is not known at this time whether he will be coming into the office
or whether he would have time to come into the office. His first speaking
engagement back in Cape Cod is for Tuesday evening, so that it might be
anticipated that he would be back in Massachusetts at least at that time.
He will be going through the city here tomorrow between two different
speaking engagements outside Massachusetts. Should this office miss
contacting Representative Keith on Friday, our first reasonable chance
to contact him will be on his return to his home district on Tuesday.
3, OSI, called and advised
that Colonel Glenn Smith of the Senate Preparedness Investigation
Subcommittee Staff had called him and advised that during his trip
to the Pacific, information normally transmitted to him for the Com-
mittee should be given to Mr. Robert Neale of the Committee Staff.
Since Mr. Neale has never been cleared for the receipt of any inform-
ation, it was agreed that during Colonel Smith's absence, the necessary
transmission of information should be to Mr. James Kendall, Committee
Counsel, or to Mr. Stuart French, Professional Staff Member. Mr.
will advise the result to Colonel Smith's suggestion.
