a legislation drafted. by the Copyright Office for the general
revision of the Copyright Law, Title 17 of the United States code,
h the opportunity to review the proposed revision at this time
is very much apreciated, our review has not indicated a requirement
for any change in the draft to meet the needs of the Central Intellt
Agency.
I have noted with interest the absence of copyright authority for
mechanical translations and the advice of your staff that there would be
no legal basis for such authorization.
We will be interested in following the progress of this legisla
Congress and any further studies you may undertake in
ereewith.
