1. EQUIPMENT
The general operating condition of all units at was 25X1
satisfactory. Closer maintenance schedules have been set up to o se un avor-
able climatic conditions. A check of area reliability revealed 70 satisfactory
uses in the last 72 missions.
Some type of hand processing equipment and collimated resolution
target would definitely be an asset to our operation at L. An ECP will be issc25X1
for this purpose.
One problem concerning equipment was presented. The check-out re-
sponsibility for blower and heater elements in the hatch is assigned to our per-
sonnel. Since we do not manufacture or supply this equipment and have no con-
trol of drawings, engineering changes or routine maintenance requirements, the
effectiveness of our personnel is limited. Our men eluctant to sign the 25X1
check-off list under these conditions. has stated "P-E will be
responsible for checking out this gear". would apprec ate a review of this re-
sponsibility so that all involved may be informed of official policy. M Can
2. TRANSPORTATION
An item of interest to the majority of Tech Reps is the possibility of
gaining more flexibility in personal transportation. One suggestion offered was
to authorize a personal car for each section head. Local security people were
most helpful in reviewing this entire situation. The security problems involved
would seem to outweigh any benefit that might be gained. Since this request seems
impractical at this time, I mentioned it only as a matter of record and for possi-
ble research on your part.
3. PROBLEMS
In evaluating several of the difficulties presented I find that general
conditions have reached a satisfactory level. By this I mean that basic factors
such as work facilities, living conditions and general morale are no longer problem
areas. The list of requests for changes has now reached items of relatively minor
significance. This speaks very highly for and his effectiveness.
4. SECURITY
All personnel have a very high regard for the security people a
general feeling that the present cover story is becoming weaker with time and has
become awkward to live by. After a thorough review of this situation it is apparent
that the best possible condition exists and is under constant observation for im-
