Walter Bedell Smith as board
chairman and of Jchn C. Cor-
nelius as president of the
American Heritage Foundation
was announced yesterday by
the board of trustees. Gen-
eral Smith succeeds henry
Ford 2d as chai, man. It was
announced also that the foun-
dation would undertake a na-
tional nonpartisan campaign
to persuade all eligible citizens
to register and vote in the 1956
elections. The fpundation re-
cently closed a successful
"Crusade for 'Freedom" cam- ,
paign.
