In rounnnsts* request, we wish to report that in as elsewhere, the Agency 25X1 follows ore gn differentials, and allowances as sot forth in the Standardized .Regulations issued by the Department of State. 2. With respect to the Education Allowance, our regulation states that: (a) The Standardized Regulations provide that where an elementary or secondary school at a post is operated by a United States Government agency, no education allowance shall be granted an otherwise eligible em- ployee whose dependent uses another method of education or another type of educational facility, unless certain extenuating circum- stances specified in the Standardized nawn- lations prev&41 The exceptions listed are: (1) the school's inability to accommodate the child, (2) excessive commuting time, (3) hazardous traffic for young students who have to travel by foot, (4) health conditions certified by medical authority, (5) attendance of the child in a school in the x ,~ f,3 u T ^@ti~l~ Mku t%!:. .at,.
