SUBJECT: Psychiatric Research Program
1. Attached are thermof ax copies of pages
11 through 17 of a review made b the Inspector
General of our handling of the
2. Recommendation No. 1 of the review (page
17) calls for the launching by the Medical Staff
of a psychiatric research program
3. The DD/P is prepared to concur with this
recommendation if it is acceptable to the DD/S.
In addition, we would suggest that a member of
TSD's staff of psychologists work closely with
the members of the Medical Staff who undertake
the program.
4. It would be appreciated if you would
obtain the concurrence or comments of the DD/S
on recommendation No. 1. Inasmuch as we are
endeavoring to get our responses to the DDCI
by 1 June 1964, we hope you will be able to
accomplish this at a relatively early date.
