1. At the last EXCOM meeting Dr. Flax agreed to review the
proposed ISINGLASS R&D program and to report his recommendations
at the next meeting of EXCOM. In preparation, he visited McDonnell
Aircraft Corporation at St. Louis on 7 September 1966, at which time
he
received a detailed briefi
ng on the program

2. We are hopeful, therefore, that the forthcoming EXCOM meeting
will see some decision on the proposed R&D Program. McDonnell has
now invested
and, more important in the ISINGLASS program
y, over two years time of some of its key technical
and supervisory people. It is apparent to us that if a decision on the
proposed R&D program is not reached before the end of the year,
McDonnell undoubtedly will conclude this effort and shift their personnel
to more productive projects.
