Although no further information has been received by F/S`1', shipment may already have taken place. (42) According to information acquired in October 1953, Ceylon will be able to supply an estimated 1,500 tons of rare earths in 19516. It is expected to have 100 tons of monazite sand avail- able by 1 Fay 195k which it intends to sell to any country interested, Soviet Russia has expressed such interest, Liaison with the Department of State discloses that appropriate posts have been informed of the substance of both reports.
