I I Delivered to Dorothy Fosdick, Staff Director, Subcommittee on National Security and International Operations, a copy of the FBIS supplement giving a run-down on the current themes of the Soviet Communist Party for the 50th anniversary celebration. 2. Talked to Mr. Woodruff, on the staff of_enate Ap r4priations Co_r m tt_ee and advised him that the Comptroller General indicated informally that he was prepared to give the Agency a favorable ruling on the matter of disposal of records if he could be provided with appropriate letters from Senator Russell and from Congressmen Rivers and Mahon. I advised Mr. Woodruff that we would discuss drafts of this with him within a few days. 4. Talked with Mr. Robert Michaels, House Appropriations Committee staff, explaining the reasoning behind the recent advertisement for guards to be employed by GSA at the CIA headquarters building. Mr. Michaels advised me that Mr. Charles Schultz, the Director of the Bureau of the Budget, had been making efforts to establish an appointment with Chairman Mahon but that no time had yet been set.
