STAT
1. I I Delivered to Dorothy Fosdick, Staff
Director, Subcommittee on National Security and International Operations,
a copy of the FBIS supplement giving a run-down on the current themes of
the Soviet Communist Party for the 50th anniversary celebration.
2. Talked to Mr. Woodruff, on the staff
of_enate Ap r4priations Co_r m tt_ee and advised him that the Comptroller
General indicated informally that he was prepared to give the Agency a
favorable ruling on the matter of disposal of records if he could be provided
with appropriate letters from Senator Russell and from Congressmen Rivers
and Mahon. I advised Mr. Woodruff that we would discuss drafts of this with
him within a few days.
4. Talked with Mr. Robert Michaels, House
Appropriations Committee staff, explaining the reasoning behind the recent
advertisement for guards to be employed by GSA at the CIA headquarters
building. Mr. Michaels advised me that Mr. Charles Schultz, the Director
of the Bureau of the Budget, had been making efforts to establish an appointment
with Chairman Mahon but that no time had yet been set.
