14. Met with Mr. Ernest Baynard,
Staff Administrator, House Subcommittee on Government Activities, and
obtained from him the Committee's findings relating to the Agency Head-
quarters building which along with five other Federal buildings will be the
subject of a painting deficiency hearing to be held on 22 June. Copies of
this material were distributed to DDS, D/Logistics, OGC, Mr. Goodwin,
and (Logistics Services Division) for their information.
(See Journal of 13 June 1967.) Mr. Baynard feels that a likely recommenda-
tion to ensue out of this hearing would be that the Federal Government
obtain painting services through direct hire with supervision being afforded
by GSA.
