Monday - 9 January 1967
1, Talked to Mr. Bernard Martin, Legislative
Reference Service, Bureau of the Budget, who advised that he has received
verbal clearance on the Agency legislative package from the Department of
State and Department of Defense, and is awaiting word from the Civil Service
Commission.
2. Briefed Mr. Robert Michaels, House Appropriations
Committee staff, and Mr. J. R. Blandford, House-Armed Services Com-
mittee staff. concerning a recent OXCART incident.
3, et with Mr. Philip Kelleher, House
Armed Services Committee, and discussed with him luncheon at the Agency.
He advised that it will be a day or so before the Chairman's schedule is
finalized with regard to the meeting of senior Committee members in
Puerto Rico. We will attempt to establish a date at that time.
4. Met with Mr. J. R. Blandford, House Armed
Services Committee staff, who suggested that the matter oothe~recent press
coverage concerning Mr. Nkrumah be included in the agenda for the next
meeting of the Committee.
During the conversation, Mr. Blandford mentioned that "advice
from George Wilson indicates they are going to spendi
the F12. "
5. Checked again with James McKenna, in the
office of Senator John O. Pastore, expressing our interest in talking with
the Senator in connection with the Director's briefing of the Joint Committee
on Atomic Energy on Wednesday. McKenna is to check with the Senator and
be in touch with us.
6. Handcarried to Mr. Douglas Dahlin, House
Government Operations Military Operations Subcommittee staff, an ORR '
report concerning the Warsaw Pact countries.
