. Approved-for Release 2004/05/05: CIA-RDP69B00369R000100230040-6 JOURNAL OFFICE OF LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL Thursday - 2 November 1967 1. Was unable to meet with Mr. Philip Kelleher, Acting Chief Counspi, House Armed Services Committee.. He was away from the office during the day due to illness. 2. Met with Representative F. Edward Hebert (D. , La.) who advised that on checking the source of his information concerning the former CIA. man from Dallas who had testified before the New Orleans Grand Jury with regard to telephone tapes and listening devices, that the source is now extremely hazy. The source does not remember the name of the individual or that he in fact was identified as a CIA man. It appears that at the time the testimony was given it may have been outside a regular session and the individual's name not included on any list of witnesses. 3. Mr. Brandwein met with Representative James Fulton (R. , Pa.) in response to his request for verification or information set forth in the Aug/Sep 1967 issue of Energy Nuclaire . Mr. Brandwein advised in essence, that the information was of a very low validity at best. In passing, Congressman Fulton noted that he is extremely interested in the translation of technical documents, particularly those emanating from the Far East; that he had been a co-sponsor of a bill years ago with Mr. Humphrey for use of counterpart funds in providing such translations; and that he would appreciate being kept up to date on research and development in the field of power. The meeting was 1appeared to satisfy Mr. Fulton's request. Senator Thomas Kuchel's (R., Calif.) schedule was full again during the day. Miss Ruth Crayford advised that she would call in the morning and would try to work me in before the Senator's departure for the West Coast.
