Labre Garcia, Hardy Subcommittee Staff, in response to the call from Mrs. Phyllis Seymour of Friday evening, requesting Agency assistance for a technical sweep prior to the DIA appearance this week. Col. Garcia agreed that it would be well if DIA would provide the technical security sweep for their appearance and will contact them immediately. 25X1 25X1 Met with Miss Lisa Miller, Assistant Calif.), and discussed with her a constituent' and that they did not expect comment from the Agency on the allegations relating to a statement made by Senator Young of two years ago on the floor of the Senate. Should the Senator's office desire anything from us on this matter she will call me. 9. I lAttempted to meet with Mr. Richard Spears, Special Research Assistant to Senator George Murphy (R. , Calif.), as a follow-up to his call of Friday, but Mr. Spears was tied up in conferences through the afternoon. I have an open appointment to see him during the day tomorrow. Met with Miss Dorothy Fosdick, Assistant to Senator Henry Jackson (D. , Wash. ), concerning the background paper on the Soviet interaction with the West, which was forwarded to the Senator's office on Friday. Miss Fosdick indicated that this was exactly what the Senator had desired and hoped that this information or outline would not be released in any other writing by the Agency. I advised that this had been prepared at the Senator's request and was not scheduled for release in any other form. She again expressed the Senator's appreciation for the assistance provided. 11.1 Discussed with of DIA their scheduled appearance for Wednesday, 4 October, before the Hardy Subcommittee. I dvised they will be finishing up on a ten country outline and, in addition, will provide a survey on Haiphong which was requested by the Subcommittee.
